When exactly did you guys go Global?

DT went global on January 18th, 2005. Well, we made our going global public on that day. This is kind of DT's unofficial birthday. Presents welcome.

What kind of questions are going in here?

Y'know, general information? There aren't a lot of people interested in some of the technical aspects of the site, but every good website worth its salt has a FAQ section. Remember that.

Dumpy Thursday? Why don't you pick a better name for your site?!

Did you get to pick YOUR name? No? I thought so. This is just the name the site was born with. If you don't like it, odds are you're racist.

Who does what around the Dumpy Thursday HQ?

Peck does most of the content for the site. Pictures, Ask DT comics, buddy icons, writing text, that kind of thing. Will made all the flashes on the site, and both Mike and Will have pictures on here and may occasionally pop in with something neat.

Where do you come up with the ideas for the pictures?

I blame caffeine, overactive imaginations, and demons. I don't really know where demons fit into it, but I'm sure they do.

Ok, so you're putting crappy pictures online... what's the point?

The main point is that if you don't like it and are reading our FAQ, then you're wasting your time. That's always been a goal of ours, wasting time. Yours specifically.

But... they're stick figures. Made in MS Paint. The art is horrible!

Overactive imaginations we might have, but none of us have artistic talent. Honestly, it was either this or breaking stuff.

What's up with all the spelling errors? Four year olds could do better!

Ahhh! My favorite loophole! Dumpy Thursday is dedicated to producing "Dumpy" pictures and art. (Bet you didn't see that coming!) Every now and then I misspell something, but if anything is feeds into the charm of the site. That's what I tell myself. Helps me sleep at night.

So... Picture 13? What did happen with the mayo?

It's a long story. Honestly, all I can say is that picture 13 is not an inside joke, and that we're as confused about it as you are. The Ask DT comics deal with this question frequently, if you want to check 'em out.

Can I use your pictures on my website or send them out to my friends?

All the pictures on this website are the intellectual property of the Dumpy Thursday staff. As long as you are not trying to profit off of these pictures, and as long as you give credit where credit is due, we really won't have a problem with it. In other words, tell people where you got them, and don't try to cash in on our ideas. If you do, we'll send lawyers. Feral lawyers.

Hey, I find these pictures offensive! I demand that you take down the site, or at least take off the picture that offends me!

Sorry buddy... We didn't create this site to offend people. Of course, we also didn't create it so we could get yelled at by every person who takes something personally. There's a thing called the first amendment that says we can put whatever we want up here... Plus, there's a lot worse sites out there for you to sink your teeth into. Go bug them.

One of your pictures looks like one I drew/one I thought up of! You guys stole it!

Any pictures that bear any resemblance to any other picture out there are purely coincidental. We did not make this site to cash in on other people's ideas. Therefore, we have the right to ask the same out of you. We never took an idea from anyone, and will never steal someone else's intellectual property. In return, we ask you once again to not try to steal or cash in on our ideas.

Will you guys post a picture I drew on DT? It looks like something you guys would like and it looks just as good as anything you'd make!

Ahhhhh, DT and the quest for Fan Art. We originally had plans for a fan art section on the site, but we scrapped the project due to technical problems. The best way to get something on DT if you're not Peck is to be on the "who are we" page. We will make exceptions every now and then, but there needs to be a pretty good reason for it.

Will there ever be a Dumpy Thursday store? I really want a shirt/hat/mug with DT stuff on it!

I would like to say yes to this question. I really would. However, the DT store project is currently on hold due to 1) having no idea how to do such things, 2) being too lazy to look it up and ask someone, and 3) a crippling low self esteem problem that makes me certain that no one would buy a shirt if they were available. So, in other words, check back tomorrow. Yeah.

Will you guys update more?

Update... more? There was a time that we were updating 3 days a week. Back then, all three of the DT founding staff were working on the site all the time, and we still ran out of content to use. Now that it's just Peck doing everything, it's definitely not going to happen. We have enough trouble getting motivated to update the site once a week for crying out loud.

Are the emails in the Ask DT comics real?

Uh, sometimes. At the time of writing this, there is only really one guy who emails "Ned" on a regular basis, and to be honest, some of his questions are almost horribly unusable. When the comic does something other than answer questions, it's a pretty good sign that we either have no emails to answer or Peck needs a break from the monotony of having a plotless internet comic. If you want to ask "Ned" a question, email him at Ned at dumpythursday dot com. There's also a link to him on the contact page.

How long does each picture take?

Depends on what we're drawing. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to draw some of the finer scenes of carnage on Microsoft Paint.

When are you going to get to the last question?

Now. I'm done answering these tonight... it is early O'clock in the morning after all.
